A quick look around before the wind blew in at the Ohau Backcountry. Solar aspects were starting to have a suncrust, there was a more pronounced rime crust that in the Craigiburn and Hutt ranges on South through East slopes of approximately 1cm. Wind picked up at ridge top at about 1:30pm to very strong.
Bad weather (Windy, Cloudy and snowy/rainy in the afternoon) is predicted for tomorrow which will be a down day for me. Thankfully, as even though I haven’t hiked super far the last few days, I have been wiped from the hiking I have done. I will be travelling to Ta Anau for a hopeful hut trip for Saturday and Sunday.
