In spring, stay high, stay on the north and powder will be your reward. Today, Greg and I braved the high tempreatures and slush skiing from first chair to explore around Hakuba 47 and Goryu ski areas.
The terrain here would be amazing in winter and I’m sure I would lose my pass very, very quickly as all the exceptional skiing lies in the strictly off limits areas and all so tantalisingly easy to get at. Greg and I had a few slush laps around the resort and then exited via the top backcountry gate and made our way up towards some nice north facing slopes just outside the resort. We were rewarded with great powder skiing.
Our lines down from the Goryu north ridge. Great fun, easy access.
Greg returning the the Hakuba 47 carpark via the skin friendly route… haha.
